4-Pack SMA to UHF Adapter Kit for Ham Radio (PL-259 / SO-239)
Product description
What’s included
This kit contains four adapters, one for each SMA-to-UHF gender combination: SMA male to PL-259 male, SMA male to SO-239 female, SMA female to PL-259 male, and SMA female to SO-239 female. Antennas, radios and coaxial cable are not part of the package.
Materials and finish
Each adapter is metal-bodied with corrosion-resistant plating (commonly nickel-plated brass construction) and threaded screw-on connections. The plated finish helps withstand routine handling and outdoor use when mated to compatible equipment.
Connector details and sizes
These adapters bridge standard SMA connectors to UHF-style connectors used with PL-259 plugs and SO-239 jacks. They are intended for standard SMA center contacts — they are not RP-SMA variants — so check the center pin and outer threads on your device before connecting.
How to use
Select the adapter whose SMA gender matches your radio, scanner, SDR or antenna analyzer and whose UHF side matches the PL-259 or SO-239 on your coax, mag-mount or base antenna. Screw the mating ends together by hand until snug; use proper torque practices for RF connector longevity. This set is handy for temporary hookups, bench testing, and integrating handhelds with fixed antenna systems.
Compatibility notes
Designed for amateur radio, VHF/UHF, two-way and CB antenna arrangements where SMA-equipped gear must interface with PL-259/SO-239 cabling. Confirm your device uses standard SMA (not RP-SMA) and that both connector genders are correct before installation.
Pros
- Includes all four SMA-to-UHF gender combinations
- Durable metal construction with plated finish
- Handy for bench, field testing and temporary hookups
Cons
- For standard SMA only — not RP-SMA
- Doesn’t include cables, antennas, or radios
- May not fit nonstandard or oversized UHF connectors
VerdictA compact, practical kit for amateur radio operators and technicians who need to bridge SMA-equipped gear to UHF/PL-259 systems. The set contains every common gender pairing so you can attach handheld radios, scanners, SDRs or antenna testers to PL-259/SO-239 cabling and mounts without hunting for individual adapters. Construction appears durable and the kit is a convenient grab-and-go solution fo

Allows handheld to use outdoor antennas
If you need a handheld to run on an outside antenna these adapters let you connect easily. My older 2m AM rig lacks some repeater offsets but my handheld covers them; with a 5/8 whip, a 6-element Yagi and a VHF/UHF yagi I can switch antennas and use the handheld across those bands.

Well built, handy.

Well machined, may not fit odd CB connectors
All pieces looked new and nicely machined. My CB has an uncommon connector size so these weren't the right match for that antenna, but the adapters are well made and should be handy when I fit a different antenna.

Clarify UHF vs N-type in listing
Bought this for a NanoVNA and wrongly assumed 'UHF' meant N-type. The listing could state SMA-to-PL259 clearer, but the adapters themselves match the specs.
