Retractable Stainless Steel Clothesline — 9 ft Adjustable
Product description
Retractable design: This unit contains a spring-loaded reel with an extendable stainless steel line that reaches up to 9.0 feet (about 2.7 meters). A push-button lock holds the line at any point within its full extension. After pulling the cable out, be sure to tighten the small nut to secure the tension.
What’s included: The package includes the retractable housing with pre-wound cable, a mounting bracket, screws and plastic wall anchors for installation. The compact shell stores the line when not in use so it does not occupy space.
Materials and durability: The main enclosure and the wire are made from 304 stainless steel (housing) and a heavy-gauge steel cable, chosen to resist rust and provide longevity in humid areas like bathrooms or poolside locations.
Installation and use: The unit is intended for fixed installation and requires drilling into a wall or solid surface. Attach the housing and the receiving bracket (or hook) on opposite sides of the span, extend the cable, and engage the lock. Tighten the retaining nut after extension to maintain proper tension.
Capacity and typical applications: The thick steel cable and reinforced reel are rated to hold up to 33 lbs when mounted to a solid surface. Ideal uses include drying swimsuits, delicates and items unsuited to machine drying. Common placement options are bathrooms, balconies, laundry rooms, shower enclosures, pool areas, RVs and boats.

Stopped retracting
Line stopped retracting after two uses. It tightens enough to hold, but the retractor failed — not worth the hassle to return.

Heavy-duty for pool towels
Very durable. I put it by the pool for towels and it holds up well. Also handy for hanging work clothes after yard projects. Installation was straightforward.

Exactly what I needed
Easy to mount, feels solid and retracts cleanly when not in use. Holds a fair amount of laundry without much sag and saves floor space. Perfect for delicate items I avoid tumbling. Very satisfied and would recommend.

Performs but sags
Works well but expect some sag. On first install the screws pulled out of drywall — mount into a stud for best results.

Much better than OEM in my RV
A solid replacement for my RV’s old cord line. Stainless cable locks securely and looks better. Had to remove the old unit by prying off the bell and use a different bracket hole for the set screw. Mounted it upside-down due to space, but it works great.

Retractor jams
Doesn’t wind back easily; it gets stuck at times.

Weak anchors; needed upgrades
Plastic anchors failed under tension. Replaced with longer screws and added adhesive; now holds but still sags a bit with a few garments. Fine for minimal loads if you upgrade the fasteners.

Claimed steel but feels cheap
Ad promised steel wire but the cord felt flimsy and couldn’t handle weight. Very disappointed; wouldn’t recommend.

Simple and effective
Did exactly what I wanted.

Nylon cord, lower capacity
The cord turned out to be nylon, not 304 steel, and the unit feels fragile. It seems to support about 5 kg, not the higher capacity claimed.
