Privacy

This policy explains what Ecokev does with information when you read a review, create an account, comment, send a message, or see an advertisement. Ecokev is a product review site. It does not sell products and it does not sell personal information.

Creating an account asks for a username, an email address, and a password. The password is stored only as a hash, which means we cannot read the password back. The account exists so you can sign in and comment on a review. We do not use it to send marketing mail, and we do not give the email address to advertisers.

Your username is shown next to a comment after that comment is approved. The email address is not shown on the public site. A comment stays hidden until someone who runs the site approves it. We do not publish the time a comment was written. You can ask us to delete a comment, or the whole account, through the contact form. Deleting the account also removes the comments tied to it.

Signing in sets a session cookie so the site can tell that you are signed in as you move between pages. Signing out clears that signed-in state. The cookie is not used to build an advertising profile. The admin login uses the same cookie jar only for the person who manages the site, and that session is separate from a public account.

The contact form asks for a name, an email address, and a message. We store that message so we can reply, correct a review, or handle a deletion request. We do not add it to a mailing list, and we do not pass it to advertisers. You can ask us to delete a message by writing again through the contact form.

The contact page, the sign-up page, and the sign-in page set a session cookie so the form can confirm that the submission came from the page, not from another site. That cookie is not used to profile public visitors.

The contact form, sign-up, sign-in, comment forms, and the admin sign-in page use Google reCAPTCHA to tell people from scripts. That check sends a token to Google. Google’s policy is at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Pages may include Google Analytics. If that tag is active, Google may receive technical details such as the page you opened, a rough location derived from your IP address, the browser you use, and how you moved through the site. Google Analytics uses cookies for that measurement. Those cookies are separate from the sign-in cookie. You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Google’s own policy is at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Pages may also include Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on visits to this site and other sites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you. An account is not required to see ads, and we do not send your username or email to the ad system. You can manage personalized ads at https://adssettings.google.com, and you can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. AdSense policy is at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

We do not control which specific ad appears. Advertising does not decide which products we review or how they are scored. Ads are placed in marked slots in the header, inside a review, and in the footer.

The server may keep ordinary access logs, such as an IP address, the page requested, and the time, for security and troubleshooting. Those logs are not used to build a sale profile, and they are not joined to your account for advertising.

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Do not create an account if you are under 13.

We may update this policy when the site’s tools change. The current version is the one published on this page. Questions about privacy, including a request to see or delete an account, can be sent through the contact form.
