Coins
Wheat Penny Roll with Mercury Dime Ender — Mixed Circulated U.S. Coins
Product description
What’s included: one complete paper roll containing fifty Lincoln wheat cents plus a single Mercury dime used as the end coin. The wheat cents are circulated examples from assorted years within the series produced 1909–1958. The additional coin is a Mercury (Winged Liberty) dime struck between 1916 and 1945.
Materials and dimensions: Lincoln wheat cents in this roll are primarily the classic bronze composition used for most issues in the period (roughly 95% copper with tin and zinc). Each wheat cent measures about 19.05 mm in diameter and weighs approximately 3.11 g. The Mercury dime is a 90% silver, 10% copper coin, about 17.9 mm across and weighing roughly 2.5 g.
Condition and use: All coins are circulated and bear the expected wear, toning, and contact marks consistent with years of use. These rolls are intended for collectors, hobbyists, classroom demonstrations, or anyone who wants a ready set of vintage cents for sorting, identifying dates and mint marks, or breaking into individual pieces for study. While the roll provides a broad sampling across the wheat cent era, specific rare dates or high grades are not guaranteed.
Pros
- Authentic circulated wheat cents with historical appeal
- Includes a genuine Mercury dime as an ender
- Good for beginners, sorting, or educational use
Cons
- All coins show circulation wear, not high-grade examples
- Date distribution can cluster; older rarities aren’t assured
- Individual coin grades and mint marks vary
VerdictThis lot delivers an authentic roll of 50 circulated wheat cents finished with a genuine Mercury dime ender. It’s a solid pick for new collectors or anyone seeking bulk vintage cents for sorting, research, or display. Expect circulated condition and common dates; rare finds are possible but not guaranteed.

Missing some enders
Ordered three rolls; only two included a Mercury dime ender. Each roll did contain an Indian Head cent.

Full roll — 50 pennies plus dime
I thought one might be missing, but the roll contained fifty pennies and the dime ender. A few coins look like they could be worth checking closer.

Underwhelming date range
All pieces were from 1954–1958. Listing the full series span is accurate, but it felt misleading since none were older.
