CYCPLUS G1 Compact GPS Bike Computer — 2.0" Screen, 70 g

CYCPLUS G1 Compact GPS Bike Computer — 2.0" Screen, 70 g

Product description

Compact GPS tracking — The G1 is a lightweight, pocket-size cycling computer (about 70 g) with a 2.0" FSTN display that presents speed, trip time, distance, total mileage, clock and current altitude. The unit relies on its built-in GPS receiver for positioning and route tracking, so no external speed/cadence sensors are required.

Backlit, durable screen — The front is protected by tempered glass and uses an FSTN backlight for strong visibility in bright sunlight and at night. The display is glare-reducing and the illumination makes ride data easy to read in low light.

Water resistance and battery — The enclosure is rated to withstand rain and wet conditions (IPX6-style protection) and includes a rubber-sealed micro-USB charging port. Inside is a 1200 mAh rechargeable battery that supports many hours of continuous use; the small recharging cable is supplied in the box.

Included mounting hardware — The package contains the computer, its handlebar mount and several elastic mounting bands in different sizes so you can secure it to thin or thick handlebars. The mount has a soft rubber base to stabilize the unit and protect the bars. The G1 can be mounted horizontally or vertically depending on your preference.

Automatic features and usage — The device will enter sleep mode after a few minutes of inactivity to conserve power and will restore the last recorded ride data when powered up. Two buttons let you toggle views (current/avg/max speed and time/odometer/altitude) and the clock is set via time-zone offset. Charge with the included cable; a full charge takes a few hours.

Pros

  • Clear FSTN backlit display readable day or night
  • Sensor-free GPS tracking with simple mounting
  • Long battery runtime and auto sleep/start-stop

Cons

  • GPS data can be unstable under trees or in tunnels
  • Time-zone and clock setup can be confusing at first
  • Mounting may need extra tape or tight bands on rough terrain

VerdictA small, dependable GPS bicycle computer that delivers clear daytime/nighttime readability, long runtime and straightforward operation. It’s ideal for riders who want sensor-free speed and distance without cables. GPS-based measurements are very convenient, though accuracy can drop under tree cover or in tunnels. Mounting is easy and the unit’s Auto On/Off and sleep functions preserve battery life

Reviews

  1. Malik Yopp 5/5

    Excellent visibility and accuracy

Display remains clear in bright sun, rain and at night. It replaced my e-moto’s display with no issues and provided accurate readouts.

  2. John Verkuijten 5/5

    Works perfectly — no wires

Functions flawlessly, runs on GPS so no cables are needed. Highly recommend.

  3. Julianne 5/5

    Very long battery life

Battery life impressed me — once charged it lasted for weeks even with intermittent use. Time setting took a bit of fiddling, and satellite lock takes around a minute after power-up. Auto stop/start works well. I used silicone tape to keep the mount tight on rough trails. Accuracy matched two other GPS units I tested. Would buy again.

  4. Frédéric 5/5

    Meets expectations for basic use

Very good for basic functions. Quick to start with minimal setup, GPS locks fast and the screen is easy to read. Good value for what it offers.

  5. Jess Aguy 4/5

Good unit — remember to power it on

Nice display and clean wireless mount. It gives all the data I want but doesn’t auto-start for me, so I often forget to turn it on and miss rides. If you need guaranteed mileage tracking without manual starts, consider that. Otherwise it’s a solid, simple device.

  6. Terry Schroeder 5/5

Useful beyond cycling — worked on my boat

Bought it to back up a boat speedometer that clogs; the G1 gave reliable speed readings on water and matched my car’s speedometer up to highway speeds during testing. A versatile GPS speed readout.

  7. Oh-Gee 5/5

    Simple dashboard, good backlight

Chose this for its no-sensor setup and illuminated screen. It’s a bit chunky but mounts easily. Instructions are poorly written so expect some trial-and-error. Once set, the data is easy to toggle and matched my Samsung Watch 8 on rides. Battery held full after a couple weeks of daily use.

  8. Runion 5/5

Easy to use after initial setup

Physically compact (about 2¼" by 2¼" and roughly ¾" thick). The battery is internal and recharged via the included USB cable. Operation is simple once you learn the screen order and the MODE button. It shows speed (KPH/MPH), total trip time, odometer, clock, distance and altitude. The manual is a little unclear and clock/time-zone setup requires patience, but functionality is straightforward.

  9. Pammer 5/5

    Great no-frills cycling computer

The 53 mm diagonal screen is easy to read and buttons let you flip between current/avg/max speed and total time/odometer/altitude. I rode 38 and 53 mile outings and found distances within 1–2% of Strava. It won’t sync to online apps, but as a basic speed and distance display it performs very well. Units switch from feet to miles automatically after one mile.

  10. Mark S 3/5

GPS less reliable in heavy cover

Handy and well-built with a great screen and easy setup, but GPS drops accuracy near trees or tall buildings. I compared it to a wired odometer and a higher-end unit over three rides and the G1 reported slightly lower distances: around 18.7 vs 19.89, 17.1 vs 18, and lower again on a longer outing. For open roads it’s fine; expect some variance in shaded areas.

  11. しもしも 5/5

Very versatile and easy to read

I put it on my road bike and also on a three-wheel buggy. Speed readings are accurate and the backlight makes nighttime use easy. GPS shows zero in tunnels, which is expected, but for the price it’s an excellent GPS meter. I only needed speed display and I’m very satisfied.

  12. Pradella Daniele 5/5

    Excellent value and build

Compact, solid construction and comes with everything to secure it to a handlebar, including two sizes of rubber straps and a soft rubber base. It’s splash-resistant and the micro-USB port has a rubber plug. Full charging takes about three hours and I got roughly 13 hours of use in my tests. The backlight is on continuously and the screen is clear indoors and in sunlight.
