Solid Brass Weatherproof Padlock with Long Shackle — 1.5 in Body
Product description
This padlock is built around a solid brass body measuring 1-1/2 inches (40 mm) across, designed to resist corrosion in damp conditions. The shackle is also brass, with an approximate diameter of 5.5 mm and an extended reach of about 61 mm, providing roughly 22.5 mm of internal clearance so it fits through larger or irregular attachment points.
Inside sits a five-pin tumbler cylinder that offers basic pick and pry resistance suitable for light to moderate security needs. Both the lock housing and shackle are finished in brass to minimize rust and corrosion from outdoor exposure. The unit ships as a single padlock with two identical brass keys, allowing convenient spare-key use or shared access.
Operation is straightforward: insert one of the brass keys, turn to release the shackle, and close to re-lock. The compact size and long shackle make it useful for trailer couplers, cooler lock plates, gates with thinner hasps, and other outdoor gear where a weather-resistant, easy-to-handle padlock is preferred.
Pros
- Solid brass body and shackle resist corrosion
- Long shackle fits bulkier attachment points
- Includes two identical brass keys
Cons
- Light-duty — not for high-risk security needs
- Keys are thin and can bend if mishandled
- Some reports of reduced reliability after extended outdoor use
VerdictA compact, corrosion-resistant brass padlock aimed at light-duty outdoor use. The solid brass construction and long shackle make it useful for securing trailers, coolers, cabinets and other items where rust resistance matters. The 5-pin cylinder gives basic protection against casual tampering, and two matching brass keys are included. It’s a good value for non-critical applications, but some users

Keeps working in wet conditions
Performs well, stays dry and lasts a long time in my experience.

Broke almost immediately
Terrible experience — the key mechanism popped out when I first tried to unlock it. Had to cut it off. Would not recommend.

Good for trailer hitch
Used it on a trailer hitch — still fine after a year outdoors.

Okay short term — rust concerns
Worked for several months, then showed corrosion and difficulty operating. Spend more for a tougher unit if you need long life.

Perfect for cooler lock plates
Needed a longer shackle for our camp coolers; these fit. Keys are thin and must be handled carefully, but the locks look sturdy enough to deter animals and casual tampering.

Slim but dependable so far
Narrow profile but has opened reliably in rainy weather since November. Could be cut with tools, but performs well in the wet Northwest.

Stopped latching after a year
Bought for outdoor use; brass resists rust but the latch no longer catches after about a year with no visible damage. Won't repurchase.

Very solid feel and weather resistant
I bought this brass padlock a few months back and it has held up well. The all-brass construction looks good and resists the elements, and the longer shackle made it easy to secure awkward attachments.
