Caramel CAG28 23" Glossy Curly Acacia Concert Ukulele
Product description
Handmade construction: Each CAG28 is built primarily by hand by a team of experienced luthiers rather than mass-produced on an assembly line. This hands-on process focuses on careful shaping, fitting and finishing to ensure attention to detail.
Finish and wood: The body features curly Acacia and receives multiple rounds of polishing and lacquering similar to piano lacquer techniques. The multi-layer glossy finish produces a deep sheen and a tough surface that highlights the wood grain.
Strings and hardware: The instrument ships strung with carbon-fiber strings selected for comfortable playability and clear, resonant tone. Tuning stability is aided by upgraded, black-finished tuning machines with an 18:1 gear ratio for precise adjustments.
Included accessories: The package is sold as a complete starter set. Included are a padded carrying bag for transport, an electronic tuner, a cleaning cloth and a selection of picks. Extra strings are supplied so players have spares at hand.
Playability and size: This is a 23-inch concert ukulele with a slightly wider neck that suits players with larger hands while remaining comfortable for beginners. Its combination of finish, strings and tuners makes it suitable for practice, small performances and travel.

More than just a toy
This deserves high marks. I've owned several ukuleles and this one sounds lovely. I'd seen negative comments online but my unit is solid. The wide neck is very comfortable for bigger hands and it replaced another favorite of mine.

Good value for beginners
Affordable and attractive, it sounds decent for a starter. I'm new to this and it matched well with some of my other guitars.

Disappointing issues
Some positives — nice grain and modern shape — but several problems. The gloss is applied too thick in places and looks cloudy. The bridgework is rough and the saddle sits very low, making action adjustment impossible without major work. The fingerboard polish wasn't cleaned off properly and the headstock slots look unfinished. Volume and sustain are underwhelming.

Perfect for learning
I loved the look and tone. After decades playing guitar and bass, this rekindled the joy of learning. The package included a gig bag, tuner, picks and extra strings so I was playing right away.

Gorgeous glossy concert uke
The Acacia, finish and sound are all excellent. The shell inlay contrasts nicely with the wood color. Really pleased with it.
