thinksound ov21 Wired Over‑Ear Closed‑Back Studio Headphones with Mic
Product description
Awarded for its high‑fidelity tuning, the ov21 was designed to meet the needs of both professional users and serious listeners — musicians, DJs, podcasters, engineers, producers and streamers.
The headphones use 45mm dynamic drivers inside a closed‑back shell to reproduce a broad frequency range from 5Hz up to 22kHz. Exterior plastics incorporate Eastman Trēva, a wood‑derived bioplastic chosen to reduce unwanted resonance and enhance clarity. Ear cushions are memory foam and the headband is adjustable to deliver long‑wear comfort and improved passive isolation.
Included in the box are two 4.5‑foot detachable, tangle‑resistant cords — one cable includes an inline microphone for voice calls and the other is microphone‑free. Both terminate in a steel‑reinforced, gold‑plated 3.5mm stereo plug for secure and consistent signal transfer. The headphones are specified at 99±3dB sensitivity (measured at 1kHz, 1mW) and 50 ohm impedance, suitable for use with phones, laptops and desktop audio equipment when paired appropriately.

Good value, solid performance
Comfortable with good isolation and pleasing sound. For what they deliver, they’re a very reasonable option and perform well for casual listening and light studio use.

Solidly built and comfortable, with clear mids, crisp highs and satisfying bass. Good all‑rounders for the price — very comfortable for long listening sessions.

Surprised a hearing aid user
I hadn’t known the brand before but bought them after good feedback. They compare favorably with my Meze Classic 99, with similar clarity though they need a touch more drive. They also caused less feedback with my hearing aid, which was a pleasant surprise.

Clear sound, minor cosmetic issue
Crisp, clear sound and sturdy construction. I did find the headband cushion slightly damaged on arrival, which was disappointing, but otherwise they’re light, retro looking and robust.

Attractive, comfy and precise
Arrived in tasteful, low‑waste packaging. They look great, feel premium and adjust easily (they sat large on my smaller head but fit on the shortest setting). Good passive noise rejection and a smooth bass presence.

Stunning fidelity, one cable gripe
The fidelity is astonishing — powerful, tactile bass and crisp, airy highs. My only complaint is that one of the supplied cables is too short for my DAW + guitar setup, which limits mobility during studio work.

Not up to pro mixing expectations
After giving them multiple chances and swapping cables, I found them average for serious mixing. Sound is a bit thin and deep bass can be lacking on some tracks. Comfortable and well‑made, but not trustworthy for critical mixing.

Classy look, versatile use
They look premium and sound great, suitable for both casual listening and light mixing. If you want a snug hard case, they fit many common third‑party headphone cases.

Needs matching to your source
Very comfortable and well made, but the bass can dominate. An EQ or pairing with a neutral‑leaning amp helps tame the low end. Overall a good value if you match them properly.

Replaced my old set for music
I grabbed these for work and ended up preferring them over my Bose for music. The soundstage and low end are more spacious and engaging, and they stay comfortable for hours without fatigue.

Reveals new layers in tracks
Not an audiophile, but these headphones made me notice instruments and details I’d never heard before. Very comfortable pads, sturdy build and the detachable cable is practical. I now use them for focused listening.

Well built with a revealing signature
Excellent construction and a comfortable fit. The closed design still manages a surprisingly large soundstage and reveals layers in recordings. A refined listening experience that punches above its weight.
