Gorilla All-Purpose Wood Filler Kit is designed to repair cracks, gouges and holes in wood surfaces. The kit ships with an 8 oz tub of high-performance wood filler, a 3" stainless-style putty knife for applying and shaping, and a premium sanding block for finishing.
The filler is a moldable compound formulated for strong, durable repairs. It spreads smoothly for a natural finish and is made to accept stains and paints so repaired areas can blend with surrounding wood. It’s labeled as shrink- and crack-resistant and designed for both interior and exterior projects when sealed or coated. The material also claims water resistance for typical household exposures and can hold nails and screws once set.
Preparation calls for a clean, dry surface free of dust and loose debris, with surface and material temperatures above 40°F. Mix gently before use. Apply the filler with the supplied putty knife, removing excess; deeper holes may require multiple fills. Dry times vary: shallow fills can set in about an hour, while deeper fills may take 2–6 hours to harden. Sand using medium-grit paper or a high-speed sander once fully cured.
Finish by testing stain compatibility on scrap wood before committing to a visible repair. The filler accepts latex or oil-based paints. Clean uncured residue with a damp cloth and wash tools and hands with soap and water before the filler hardens. The tub has a tight-lock lid for longer shelf life and reuse. For exterior use, apply a protective topcoat; the filler is not meant for continuous submersion.

Worked fine after a little rehydration

Arrived unusable for me
My container was dried out and nearly impossible to work with. I couldn’t get a usable consistency and ended up dissatisfied.

Dried on arrival but salvageable
Opened it to find clumps that wouldn't spread. After adding water and mixing I was able to use it reluctantly instead of discarding the jar.

Accepts stain well after shaping
Rebuilt a decorative corner and reshaped it with the putty knife. It took stain nicely. Allow ample cure time before sanding and consider swapping the included sanding pad for firmer pads for faster finishing.

Just add water and stir — saved my weekend
I received a dryer batch but mixed in warm water to reconstitute the filler. It worked well for filling floor holes, was moldable, dried, sanded easily and accepted stain. I rehydrate when it gets a bit firm.

Fixed dog damage on wall and trim
Resealable tub was convenient and the filler was easy to work with by hand. Color wasn’t a perfect match for my wall but a coat of paint solved that. Nice consistency and quick drying.

Not a pro, but this kit made small furniture repairs simple. Texture spread smoothly with the included knife, dried reasonably fast, sanded down and painted over cleanly. Feels durable and useful for routine touch-ups.

Give it time — strong results after overnight cure
At first it seemed dry and not tacky, so I over-applied and worried it would fail when sanding. After an overnight cure it hardened and adhered like real wood. I was able to sand and sculpt to match trim and the repair held up well.
