Creality Space Pi SE Filament Dryer Box Pro (1kg Spools)
Product description
The Space Pi SE filament dryer box is a single-spool dehydrator designed to bring damp filament back to usable condition and keep it ready for printing. Included in the package are the dryer unit itself, a power cord, a user guide, a sealing pass-through grommet for filament feed, and a simple humidity display.
Heating is accomplished with an upgraded PTC element that reaches the upper limit of the range quickly; the chamber can reach 65°C in roughly 15 minutes. An internal fan forces warm air in a 360° pattern so the spool receives even heat, and thermal insulation cotton lines the inner walls to retain heat and reduce surface temperature for safer handling. Input power is 110V 50/60Hz.
Controls are immediate — the unit requires no assembly and is ready out of the box. A single rotary knob and display let you set temperature and duration. The temperature is adjustable from 45°C to 65°C, and the timer can be set from 0 up to 24 hours. The screen shows current humidity and a countdown so you can monitor progress.
The dryer accepts most 1kg spools and supports filament diameters of 1.75mm and 2.85mm. It works with PLA, PLA+, PETG, TPU, ABS, ASA, PP, PC, and PA (nylon). For feeding directly to a printer, pairing the dryer’s outlet with Teflon tubing or a PTFE guide tube smooths filament movement and reduces friction.
For best long-term results, dry the spool to the desired humidity level and then store it in a vacuum bag or airtight container. While the unit reduces moisture effectively, prolonged storage in a sealed environment is recommended to keep filament dry between prints.
Pros
- Rapid heating with even 360° airflow
- Simple knob-and-display operation, no assembly
- Compatible with common 1kg spools and filament types
Cons
- Holds only one spool at a time
- Display viewing angle can be limited
- Fan produces noticeable noise under load
VerdictThe Space Pi SE is an effective, no-fuss filament dryer for hobbyists and small workshops. It heats quickly, maintains even temperatures with 360° airflow, and gives you control over drying time and temperature for different materials. It’s best suited to single-spool workflows and will noticeably reduce moisture-related print issues like stringing, clogging, and poor layer adhesion. The unit is s

Noticeable improvement on PA12-CF
My print success with PA12-CF rose significantly after using this dryer. It runs quietly and has become part of my workflow.

Great for flexible filaments — sturdy and precise
Feels solid out of the box with a clear window and a responsive 3.7-inch screen. Feeds filament smoothly to my printers and the PTC heating makes a clear difference over passive solutions.

Control knob issues
The control button on our unit didn’t register reliably; I removed and modified it to work. It was a hassle but now functions normally.

Saved me from building my own
I planned to make a DIY dry box but this unit exceeded expectations. The humidity readout bottoms out around 15% on the built-in meter, which is enough to tell me it’s working. The single-knob interface is intuitive and the included usage video clarifies operation.

Solid value and straightforward performance
Does exactly what it promises. Gets up to temperature in around ten minutes and the timer is handy for overnight prep. Only holds a single spool, the screen can be hard to read from some angles, and the fan is a bit loud. Overall effective for moisture-sensitive materials.

Compact, quiet, and effective
Small footprint and relatively quiet. It lowered humid spools close to the mid-teens percent within hours but couldn’t get below about 13% on my rolls. A helpful temperature chart is included, though a sticker on the unit would be convenient.

Does the job, with some caveats
Basic construction but it circulates hot air and dries filament. Chamber isn’t airtight so not ideal for long-term storage. I don’t fully trust the humidity readout, though the temperature seems accurate. The pass-through can bias filament direction, so I sometimes print with the lid open.

Reliable over many spools
Has worked well across dozens of spools and improved print results. Seems durable and is easy to operate. A bit pricier than the cheapest options but performs reliably.

Moderately good
Leaves a small residual humidity but performs its intended function.

Fantastic long-term performance
After nearly a year of regular use it still works flawlessly. It dries spools quickly even in humid conditions and saved me time and wasted filament.

Initially failed display, good support (updated)
After two weeks the display began to garble numbers and humidity was unreadable. Customer support arranged a replacement screen, which I installed with some effort. Support was responsive and helpful; non-technical users might want guidance for repairs.

Very useful
Recovered damp filament and improved print quality. The temperature/time guide is helpful. Downsides: manual isn’t in Spanish, filament exit hole feels a little fragile, and the humidity readout doesn’t always seem accurate.
