ARTEZA 24-Color Gouache Paint Set — 0.4 fl oz (12 ml) Tubes, Opaque Matte
Product description
24 carefully chosen colors: The kit includes 24 distinct gouache hues that balance bright primaries, deeper tones and practical mixing shades so you can tackle illustration, design, sketchbook work, posters, portraits, landscapes and mixed-media projects without a massive color set taking over your table.
Opaque matte finish: These AP-certified non-toxic gouache paints offer the dense, matte coverage artists expect from gouache. Use them for bold shapes, clean edges, highlights, layered details and areas where opaque color is needed instead of a transparent watercolor effect.
Creamy, blendable consistency: The paint comes out of the tube with a smooth body that spreads and mixes easily. The texture supports defined brushwork while allowing you to thin for softer transitions, gradients and glazing effects.
Rewettable for adjustments: Dried gouache on your palette can be reactivated with water, so you can soften edges, make small corrections and reuse leftover mixes. That flexibility makes the set convenient for testing mixes, building layers and refining details.
12 ml tubes with organizing trays: Each 0.4 fl oz (12 ml) tube is sized to let you dispense only the amount you need and recap it after use. The pack includes storage trays to group the 24 tubes, keeping colors visible and your studio or desk tidier.

Solid beginner set
Bought this to test gouache without committing to expensive tubes. The set performs well for learning the medium. Note that color names aren’t printed on the tubes or box—only pigment IDs are—so the online color chart is handy. I transferred paint into a storage palette and a little still remains in the original tubes; so far no problems.

Good starter value for trying gouache
I like watercolor and wanted to experiment with gouache without a big spend. The set arrived in a compact box with a plastic divider that keeps the 24 tubes organized. Pigmentation is solid and many shades are quite opaque; the thick, creamy feel is noticeable. I prefer these colors to another student-grade set I tried. The manufacturer also lists pigment numbers, opacity and lightfast info for each shade, which I found helpful.

Best option for most users
Tubes look small but the pigment goes a long way—these paints are rich and creamy, not grainy, and blend well. They’re not the most opaque I’ve ever used, and they work best fresh from the tube rather than as dried pans, but they offer excellent performance for the range they cover.

Absolutely excellent for beginners
This is one of the best gouache kits I’ve used for starting out. The dried finish is lovely, the colors are vivid, and they mix smoothly. Great for learning to create custom palettes and experimenting with color mixing.

A delightful discovery
I thought these paints might be unnecessary but they surprised me. They’re easy to use, richly pigmented and blend well with watercolors. I even mixed small amounts with other mediums in experiments and got pleasing results. Delivery and packaging were fine and the set offers a strong quality-to-value ratio.

Great straight from the tube; palette pans need a trick
Right out of the tube the gouache is excellent: opaque, matte, vibrant and mixes cleanly with no gritty feel. The problem is when you dry it into palette wells — it can crack and crumble. I fixed that by stirring a tiny drop of honey or a bit of glycerin into the paint before filling pans; it keeps the dried paint flexible enough to reuse.

Good to add color variety
Expands my color options and is a good value for what you get. Don’t expect miracles, but for boosting palettes it’s a useful set.

Great for gouache newcomers
Colors are vibrant and cover nicely if you avoid overmixing. The selection is sufficient for beginners; drying in a palette may require adding a bit of fresh paint or white to regain full opacity. Overall very happy as an entry kit.

Highly recommended to start with gouache
I bought them to try gouache for illustration work and they performed very well. Colors stayed vivid even after mixing. My package arrived in a slightly different box than pictured—taller with four small plastic compartments—but the paints themselves were fine. Not an expert, but I’m satisfied for practice and personal projects.

Impressive upgrade from watercolor
First time using gouache and these were a revelation—smoother, more pigmented and more vibrant than the cheaper watercolor set I also tried. They blend and lay down color with less water, dry slimmer on the page, and felt more robust when pulling washes and mixes.

Outperformed my expectations compared to pricier brands
I expected typical student-grade performance but was pleasantly surprised. After buying one set I picked up another to refill my palette. Packaging from the brand itself felt more protective than other retailers. I usually reach for artists’ grade brands, but these tubes handled very similarly in many respects and delivered strong color payoff.

Feels between student and pro quality
I was drawn by the lightfast ratings, opacity notes and pigment IDs—details often seen in higher-end ranges. The paints are creamy and mostly odorless. They stayed workable longer than some gouaches I’ve used, though humidity might have helped. Color selection is generous and the paints performed reliably while I worked on a test piece.
