Make a great meal in minutes with these Ninja Foodi Cheesesteak Sandwiches!
Craving a hot, cheesy sandwich that’s ready fast? These Ninja Foodi Cheesesteak Sandwiches deliver tender, thin-sliced beef, sautéed onions and peppers, and melted provolone on hoagie rolls. Using the Ninja Foodi pressure cooker and air crisp functions, you can have a satisfying dinner in under 30 minutes with minimal hands-on time.

These sandwiches pair wonderfully with crispy onion rings or a simple side salad for a complete meal.
What meat should you use for cheesesteak sandwiches?
The best cut for a classic cheesesteak is ribeye steak. Ribeye has good marbling and flavor and becomes tender when sliced thin. For the best texture, freeze the steak for about 20–30 minutes to firm it slightly, then slice very thinly against the grain. Thin slices ensure the meat cooks quickly and stays tender in the pressure cooker.

Top the cooked meat with sautéed onions and provolone cheese, and serve on hoagie rolls or other crusty sandwich bread.

Tips for Making Ninja Foodi Cheesesteak Sandwiches
Choose a steak seasoning you enjoy. A blend with a hint of garlic complements the beef and onions nicely. If you prefer, season simply with salt and pepper. Using beef broth instead of water in the pressure cooker adds more savory depth to the meat and sauce.
Start by sautéing the onions in the Ninja Foodi using the Sauté function. Once the onions are softened and translucent, add the sliced steak, bell pepper, and broth, then switch to the Pressure Cooker function. After cooking and a natural pressure release, you can top the hoagie rolls with the steak and provolone and finish them in the Foodi on Air Crisp to melt cheese and toast rolls for a crisp edge.

If you prefer a simpler approach, skip the air crisp step and serve the cooked meat and melted cheese on fresh rolls without toasting. Add your favorite sauce or condiments if desired, though these sandwiches are delicious with just cheese and onions.

This recipe is written to serve four and can be doubled for a larger crowd. It’s ideal for weeknights when you want a hearty sandwich without spending hours in the kitchen.

Easy Ninja Foodi cheesesteak sandwiches ready in less than 30 minutes—tender steak, sautéed onions and peppers, and melted provolone on hoagie rolls.
Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 8 mins (pressure cook) + air crisp if toasting
Total Time: 18 mins (not including natural release)
Ingredients
- 1 lb Ribeye steak
- 1/2 Tbsp steak seasoning (or to taste)
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 cup diced sweet onion
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 8 slices provolone cheese
- 4 hoagie rolls
Instructions
- Season the ribeye steak with steak seasoning or salt and pepper. Set aside while you prepare vegetables.
- Turn the Ninja Foodi to SAUTE on high and add the olive oil. When hot, add the diced onions and sauté until translucent and slightly soft.
- While the onions cook, thinly slice the steak against the grain into thin strips. Slice the green bell pepper into strips if not pre-sliced.
- When the onions are done, turn the Ninja Foodi off. Add the sliced steak, bell pepper, and beef broth to the pot, stirring to combine with the onions.
- Secure the pressure cooker lid, set the function to PRESSURE, and ensure the vent is on SEAL. Cook on high pressure for 8 minutes.
- Allow the unit to naturally release for 10 minutes, then carefully move the vent to VENT to release any remaining steam.
- Carefully open the lid. If you plan to toast the hoagie rolls, remove the steak mixture and distribute it evenly among the rolls, topping each with 1–2 slices of provolone cheese.
- Place two filled hoagie rolls on the wire rack in the lowest position of the Foodi. Set the function to AIR CRISP at 360°F and air crisp for about 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the rolls are lightly toasted.
- Remove carefully and serve immediately. If you prefer, skip the air crisp step and serve the steak and melted cheese on fresh rolls as-is.
Notes
Toasting the hoagie rolls in the Ninja Foodi adds texture and melts the cheese nicely, but it is optional. Substitute other cheeses like provolone alternatives or American cheese to your taste. Use low-sodium beef broth if monitoring sodium.
