Spinach, Apple & Orange Juice Recipe for Fresh Energy

Spinach Apple Orange Juice

Hello friends, I’ve been a bit quiet lately and apologize for not posting for a week.

This week I decided to start a full detox. For the rest of March, breakfasts and dinners will feature juices and salads as my go-to meals.

I truly feel my body needs a reset — especially with spring approaching. Just like we do spring cleaning in our homes, our bodies benefit from a thorough cleanse.

Don’t worry — this won’t slow down my posting. I’ve prepared many of my recipes so often that I can make them with my eyes closed, and I’ll continue sharing comforting, delicious meals.

Of course my family still needs to eat, so cooking remains part of my daily routine. Changing eating habits is especially challenging with kids, but I’m committed to this reset.

Temptations are everywhere, but starting today I’m firm about this detox because my body, mind, and spirit need recovery. Lately I’ve had more frequent and intense headaches, stomach discomfort, and fatigue that made it hard to get out of bed.

My last full detox was so effective — I felt light, energetic, and my mood improved dramatically in just a few days.

Expect some moodiness for the first 2–3 days while your body adjusts. I’ve been through this before, and after recent illnesses and lingering viruses I’m ready to do what it takes to feel healthy again.

SPINACH:

A single cup of spinach provides nearly 20% of the recommended daily fiber intake, which supports digestion, prevents constipation, helps maintain stable blood sugar, and can reduce overeating.

Studies have shown that compounds in spinach can slow cell division in certain stomach and skin cancer cells.

Anti-Inflammatory & Antioxidants

Spinach contains anti-inflammatory carotenoids like neoxanthin and violaxanthin that help regulate inflammation. It also offers vitamin C, vitamin E, beta-carotene, manganese, zinc, and selenium — all antioxidants that support heart and bone health and may help reduce the risk of atherosclerosis and high blood pressure.

Immunity:

One cup of spinach provides a very high amount of vitamin A, essential for maintaining healthy mucous membranes in the respiratory, urinary, and intestinal tracts. Vitamin A also supports lymphocyte function, which helps the immune system fight infection.

Skin: The vitamin A in spinach supports healthy skin by helping the epidermis retain moisture, which can improve conditions like psoriasis, keratinization, acne, and may reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

Calcification, Brain and Nervous Function

Spinach is rich in vitamin K, which is necessary for carboxylation reactions that produce matrix Gla protein. This protein prevents inappropriate calcium buildup in tissues, a process that helps reduce the risk of vascular calcification, atherosclerosis, and related cardiovascular issues.

Vitamin K also contributes to healthy brain and nervous system function by supporting the synthesis of sphingolipids, important components of neural tissue.

In addition to these benefits, spinach supports eye health, bone strength, and has been associated with lower blood pressure.
