Ingredients

  • 250 g dark chocolate bar (or large chips)
  • ½ can condensed milk
  • ¾ cup peanut butter (smooth or chunky)

Instructions

  • Melt the dark chocolate. Use short bursts in the microwave (stirring between intervals) or melt gently using a double boiler on the stovetop.
  • Stir the condensed milk into the melted chocolate until fully combined and smooth.
  • Add the peanut butter and mix thoroughly until the mixture is uniform.
  • Pour the mixture into a flat container lined with aluminum foil or parchment. Spread evenly and smooth the top.
  • Refrigerate until firm, about an hour. Once set, cut into squares and store in the fridge.

Notes

  1. If microwaving chocolate, chop it into smaller pieces and heat in 30–60 second intervals, stirring each time to prevent burning.
  2. For stovetop melting, use a double boiler: place a heatproof bowl over simmering water and let the steam melt the chocolate gently.
  3. If you prefer added texture, fold in chopped nuts (walnuts, almonds, cashews or roasted peanuts) before pouring the mixture into the pan.
  4. To make layered fudge, pour half the chocolate-condensed milk mixture first, add a peanut butter layer, then finish with the remaining chocolate mixture.
  5. This fudge is a lovely homemade gift and a crowd-pleasing dessert — rich but easy to portion and serve.
